Glad you got some snow. Actually, you're right across Lake Erie from us, and we've had a ton of that white stuff, so I was thinking that the north side of the lake got what we "south-siders" got. The snow has been beautiful and makes the trees look like works of art, but at this poiont, I just can't wait for spring. I'm going to go to the Cleveland Botanical Gardenss "Orchid Mania" show next week to take photographs, but the surrounding University Circle area has beautiful winter scenes, which will also make for wonderful images. Enjoy the rest of your winter, Yvonne.

Dear Eve: I sure hope you will visit one day. This summer perhaps? Can I get my hopes up?

My cousin in Maine is heading to Flordia tomorrow, driving!! Then she is going to come back via Alabama to visit. I was going to give her my snowshoes...but now I'm not sure if I should!!! We had a lot of snow in Alabama this year. OK OK I'm going to give her the snowshoes...I'm hoping this was a fluke and I'll never need them agian. I hope Spring arrives soon Yvonne...I think I would rather visit your gardens than any other garden on the planet....and I mean ALL of them!

I think we're all tried of winter. (It is a rather long season!) But the nice thing about the snowstorm this week is that it brought a consolation prize of beauty, something that's been missing without the snow.

Hi Eszter: How lovely to hear from a reader in Hungary. That's what I love about blogging: it brings the world together, and makes it feel smaller. Thank you so much for your comment: you made my day.

Yvonne, the trees look just like in a winter tale! I've been reading your blog for a few months - actually devoured the whole of it - and appreciate the way you think of gardening. Your posts are inspiring.

We had "real" winter with thick snow cover from the end of December which isn't usual in Hungary. I didn't have to worry about plants in the freeze around -20 °C. And we are still having rain and fog. So it's been quite wet here, in the middle of Europe. It should be time for spring now.

To be quite honest with you Yvonne, I'm getting tired of winter now (just a little) even though we didn't get a whole lot of snow till now either. It's been coming down now for a day and a half. Maybe if I had snowshoes I would be happy with it?
