My favorite crabapple, Sugar Thyme

Our crabapple trees are in full bloom this week. This one is actually a just a tiny bit past its prime, but conditions were not great for photography all week with harsh light and lots of wind even early in the morning. But today was perfect for capturing this glorious crabapple in bloom, one of the highlights of my spring.

I can understand that. Is it a dwarf? or just been pruned like that?

No, it isn’t actually a dwarf. It’s has this habit naturally – at least this individual is growing wide, not tall. But, of course, we do prune to thin it out and shape it. My expert pruner, Bob May did it this spring.

Hey Yvonne,

It’s beautiful :)
From the picture, it looks like a winter christmas tree, covered with snowy white powder on the leaf..very homey feeling

Just wonder is Spring the ideal season for crabapple tree?
